The Changing Pattern Series
This art is a very personal and expressive reflection of my own journey. I've found a unique way to combine abstraction with figurative elements, which helps me create visual stories that speak to healing, resilience, and the human spirit. I find profound inspiration in navigating life's challenges. My 3 year nomadic journey, caring for my husband through cancer, truly shaped my perspective, reminding me to embrace life's shifts and find beauty even in unseen dimensions. As a licensed art therapist, I often feel that I intuitively weave healing narratives into my expressive work, hoping to encourage others to discover their own profound connections through art. It's a privilege to share a piece of my journey and invite you to explore the stories within my art.
The Corio Series
These unique pieces were inspired by my son's recent venture, "Corio," a new restaurant in the vibrant city of Philadelphia. As I created them, my focus was deeply rooted in the principles of safety, healing, abundance, and love. These profound spiritual concepts are intricately woven into the very fabric of each artwork, primarily through the powerful symbol of the Mandala.
The Mandala, a perfect circle, has long been revered for its soothing qualities and its ability to connect us to deeper truths. As Carl Jung eloquently described, the Mandala represents the spiritual connection of the divine and the collective unconscious, an understanding that encompasses all things. During the creation process, I tapped into these higher levels of consciousness, channeling good, loving energy and relying on my higher Power or Source. The Mandala is a pattern I frequently call upon, and its presence in these works for me, offers a sense of calm.
